The World Economic Forum – Pride Event

June 11 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

Fabrice Houdart, Managing Director, Global Advocacy at Out Leadership will be a guest speaker alongside Shamina Singh from Out Leadership member firm MasterCard on a panel at a virtual World Economic Forum event Behind the velvet curtain, An intimate exploration of the LGBTQ leadership journey.

We may have had a historic presidential primary race in the US in 2020; with an out gay man running for the Democratic primaries. However, that level of visibility was long and hard-fought for, starting with the Stone Wall Riots in New York City in 1969. What does it really take to be an “out leader” both in the private and public realm? Many trials and tribulations were faced by those that were courageous enough to come out, and after many years ascend into visible leadership positions. This dialogue will explore both the challenges and lessons learned along the way. Join us for an inspirational conversation that hopes to reveal the trade-offs, and internal conflicts one faces (regardless of their orientation) along their leadership journey.

Guest Speakers:

  • Fabrice Houdart (Out Leadership & formally with United Nations)
  • Sarah Kate Ellis (CEO GLAAD)
  • Shamina Singh (Founder & President of the MasterCard Center for Inclusive Growth)
