John Richards is a Shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Chambers Band 1 Retail & eCommerce Practices where he serves manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers, in every aspect of their business. John is a driving force behind GT’s firmwide LGBTQ+ program that includes an affinity group and partnerships with key national organizations. He spearheaded GT’s long-stand partnership with Out Leadership, which includes GT serving as the organization’s U.S. talent sponsor after two years as a Global Sponsor. Additionally, John served for six years on the National Board of Directors for Lambda Legal. John’s passion stems from the honesty and authenticity of a diverse and inclusive workspace that translates into happiness and productivity which allows employees to provide the highest level of client service. Those efforts have been achieved at GT, thanks in large part to John’s campaigns.
John plays an invaluable leadership role in furthering the visibility, voice, and advancement of LGBTQ+ lawyers. Global companies turn to John for guidance on designing and implementing LGBTQ+ policies, training to cultivate awareness and humanize the LGBTQ+ business community, and best practices for inclusive work environments. John routinely speaks on these issues and has hosted many CLEs on these topics.
John’s substantive command of these topics and institutional knowledge of his clients, enables John to deliver highly-tailored, dynamic training sessions to employer audiences. John received his J.D. Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.S. Summa Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University.
